Welcome to Truly Terrific Third Grade at Ketchikan Charter School!

Dear Third Grade Students and Families,
Volunteers for Field Day, June 2 and Beach Day, June 3 are still needed...
Please contact the office if you would like to volunteer for either Field Day or Beach Day next week at 225-8568. Our class could still use cases of water for Field Day and juice and apples for our Beach Day next week. Thank you for the paper towels, juice, and chips that have already been sent in for our Beach Day. We will be leaving KCS at 9:30 and returning by 1:30. We will be traveling on a First Student bus to Bugge's Beach on Thursday, June 3. We will be eating lunch at the Bugge's Beach about noon. We are inviting all our third grade families to come and join us at the beach. Bring your beach buckets and shovels, your cameras and your extratuffs and come and join us next Thursday at the beach!
Field Day-Wednesday, June 2...
We will be having our KCS Field Day on next Wednesday. Field Day will be held on the playground at 9:00-12:30. We will be walking over to the City Park, near the Norman Walker Ball Field at 12:30 and will be having a Barbecue at the park until 2:00. The kids will walk back to the school with me and I will excuse them at 2:30. We would like to invite all our third grade families to the Field Day barbecue at City Park at 12:30 on Wednesday. If the weather is real wet on Field Day we will have the barbecue at our school. Plan to come and join us!
End of Year Report Cards and Test Results...
All copies of your third grader's end of year report cards, State Student Based Assessment, and Gates-MacGinitie Reading Assessment results will be mailed to you as of Friday, June 4. I will be sending a final copy of your third grader's detailed grade book pages home next Thursday, June 3. All GRADES WILL BE LOCKED IN AND FINAL AS OF THIS COMING TUESDAY, JUNE 1 AT 8:00 A.M. If you have any questions in regards to your third grader's progress during the last trimester, please let me know through use of e-mail or call. After June 1 at 8:00 a.m. I will not be able to accept any late assignments.
Third Grade still has outstanding textbooks that have NOT been turned in...
ALL "WHAT YOUR THIRD GRADER NEEDS TO KNOW" TEXTBOOKS WERE DUE ON FRIDAY, MAY 21. BE SURE YOUR THIRD GRADER HANDS THEIR GRADER BOOK IN TO ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THERE WILL BE A PAYMENT EXPECTED IF YOUR CHILD CAN'T FOR SOME REASON RETURN THE BOOK. YOUR THIRD GRADER WILL BE ABLE TO GO TO FIELD DAY AND BEACH DAY ON JUNE 2 AND 3 IF THEY HAVE THEIR LIBRARY FINES AND THEIR GRADER BOOK RETURNED. If you have any questions, please let me know.
